How to Bounce back from the MATCH File
Getting approved for a merchant account can be difficult, especially if you company is featured in the MATCH file. Previously called the Terminated Merchant File, the MATCH (Member Alert to Control High-Risk) file is created and used by credit card companies to keep an eye on merchants and their principals who have terminated merchant accounts. In other words, before a merchant services provider can approve an application, it will check the MATCH file.
Getting blacklisted on the MATCH file is very disheartening. There are many reasons why a merchant might be listed in the MATCH file. Some of these reasons include too many chargebacks, breaking your merchant agreement, unauthorized sales, and fraud. While not every case is fraud, it’s important to do your research to ensure that the information regarding your company is valid.
If you’re featured in the MATCH file, don’t fret. You can still get approved for a merchant account by companies such as Solid Trust Pay. The first thing you will need to do is try to get your company removed from the MATCH file. You can try to accomplish this goal by contacting the bank or credit card company that placed you on the list in the first place. They have the power to charge or delete the data found in the MATCH file.
Once you’ve taken care of the issue with the bank or credit card company, make sure to provide this information to SolidTrustPay. The company will then evaluate your case and determine whether you qualify for a merchant account.
